Somerset Eye Centre
The Somerset Eye Medical and Surgical Centre was the vision of a group of like-minded ophthalmologists, who wished to create a dedicated eye care centre of excellence.
The centre consists of:
- Five highly qualified ophthalmologists
- Three specially trained ophthalmic assistants
- State of the art diagnostic and laser treatment centre
- Dedicated eye theatre with ophthalmic trained staff
Aware of the ever-increasing cost barrier to accessing quality medical care for patients. Rand depreciation has a negative impact on a solo practitioner’s ability to maintain technology and cutting edge standards. The need to train and retain superior medical and nursing staff has pooled resourced and skilled ophthalmologists to create a surgical and diagnostic centre comparable with the best eye centres internationally.
The Somerset Eye Centre strives to provide comprehensive and specialized eye care for all ophthalmic problems at the highest quality, comparable to international standards, for all our South African patients. This will then create a centre in which patients are assured of getting the best possible care and where the medical and nursing staff is proud to be a part of.
